Cobb County Government is transitioning its official website from cobbcounty.org to cobbcounty.gov to improve security, credibility, and accessibility for residents. The transition will officially take place on June 2.
“By adopting a .GOV domain, we are taking an important step to strengthen cybersecurity and enhance public confidence in our online services,” said Dr. Jackie McMorris, county manager. “Residents can trust that when they visit our website, they are accessing official government information and services.”
The new official website will be cobbcounty.gov. The old website will remain accessible for a limited time, but residents should update their bookmarks.
Emails to @cobbcounty.org addresses will continue to work for a limited time but contact information should be transitioned to @cobbcounty.gov as soon as possible.
For more information and a FAQ, visit this page or contact us at 770-528-1000 or information@cobbcounty.gov.
Know the burning rules. Open burning is banned from May 1 - Sept. 30 in Cobb and 53 other counties in Georgia. You may not burn leaves, tree limbs or other yard waste, forest land or use air curtain destructors for land clearing. This is in addition to the year-round state ban on burning of household garbage.
Cobb Fire and Emergency Services staff enforce this state-issued burning ban in unincorporated Cobb County, and the cities of Acworth, Kennesaw and Powder Springs.
